  William Britain's Thornycroft 3 ton 'J' type Lorry with A.A. Gun. The Basingstoke firm of John Thornycroft Ltd. has a length hostory of producing vehacles for the War Office. The 'J' type Thornycroft had a four-cylinder side-valve engine that developed 40 h.p. and had a top speed of 14.5 m.p.h. Between 1914-1918 more than 5000 'J' types were manufactired for British Army.
